Synopsis:

The series is about two best friends in their 20s, spending time in the bathroom discussing, confessing, reflecting, gossiping, arguing and laughing together. An honest, genuine series based on crowdsourcing, where more than 60 people in the target group have been interviewed.

Thematic focus and perspective

The series has a feminist perspective. Young women can identify with the two female lead characters and find strength in the way they face challenges and problems through conversation, reflection and their own solutions.

The series was produced in 2019. Yle holds the commercial rights to the series. Bathroom Stories has been broadcast by Yle, NRK and DR, and a remake was produced in 2020 for VRT by the Belgian production company Sputnik.
